Early voting for 2021 City of Gainesville Regular Election starts Friday

Early voting for the 2021 City of Gainesville Regular Election begins Friday and lasts through March 13. Locations are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Early voting locations are as follows:

  • Supervisor of Elections Office (515 N Main Street, Suite 100, Gainesville)
  • Millhopper Branch Library (3145 NW 43rd Street, Gainesville)
  • J. Wayne Reitz Union, University of Florida (655 Reitz Union Drive, Ground Level of the Career Connections Center, Gainesville)
  • Marin Luther King Jr. Multipurpose Center (1028 NE 14th Street, Gainesville)

In an effort to keep voters and election workers as safe as possible, the use of masks or face coverings is strongly encouraged.

The voter registration deadline for this election was Feb. 16.

Voters can view their sample ballot at VoteAlachua.com/My-Registration-Status.

Voters are required to present picture and signature identification before voting. Accepted forms of identification include Florida driver licenses, Florida identification cards, United States passports, debit or credit cards, military or student IDs, retirement center or neighborhood association IDs, public assistance IDs, veteran health IDs, concealed carry IDs, or government employee IDs. Voters may use two forms of identification to meet the requirement.

Previously registered voters are encouraged to verify and update their registration status. This can be done at VoteAlachua.com/My-Registration-Status or by calling 352-374-5252.

The deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot is 5 p.m. Saturday, March 6. Vote-by-mail ballots can be requested online, in person or by phone, fax, mail or email. Until the deadline, vote-by-mail ballot requests will be filled as they are received. Any voter can sign up to vote by mail.

Vote-by-mail ballots must be returned to the Supervisor of Elections Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day. In addition to mailing ballots back, voters may choose to drop off ballots in the 24-hour, secure, white dropbox outside the Supervisor of Elections Office or to any early voting site during voting hours.
