East Gainesville community listening session and update

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Gainesville City Commissioner Desmon Duncan-Walker, District 1, and Alachua County Commission Chair Ken Cornell will host a community listening session and provide updates on local issues.

Neighbors are invited to attend, share feedback, and hear updates from City and County leadership.

When: 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22

Where: First Missionary Baptist Church at 1515 SE 15th St.

    • Here’s a few points to ponder:
      📌When will the frequent missed meetings and lack of representation be addressed?
      📌What’s being done about school-aged youth out on the East side during class hours?
      📌Why are the homeless banned from lingering under City Hall’s canopy, but permitted almost everywhere else?

      Consistent enforcement and accountability shouldn’t be too much to ask.

      That’s a good start.

      P.S. You can bet money the only reason Cornell is going is it’s campaign time.
