Local election results are official

This article has been revised to reflect new information that the results have been certified.

Local election results were finalized on Monday. The school board and municipal seats and State Representative District 20 are now final; the county commission seats and Congressional District 3 will be determined in November; and the Property Appraiser and Sheriff candidates will face write-in candidates in November. Also, incumbent Chuck Chestnut ran unopposed for County Commission 5.

    If the primary election is still not certified a week later, the November election’s going to be very interesting…
    And Florida isn’t even one of the states that is sending out ballots to everyone who’s ever been on the voting rolls… ?
    Alachua County, and Florida are better and many, perhaps most, counties and states…
    I encouraged my son, who’s been faithfully voting in North Carolina since he moved there over six years ago, to let the Alachua County supervisor of elections know that he’s no longer an Alachua County resident and voter…
    His Alachua County voter registration card came to my home address a few weeks ago…

    • Just got a call from the Supervisor of Elections, saying the results are official, although I didn’t see that on their site. Will be updating shortly.
