“Enjoy the AIDS”: woman arrested for open container violation and spitting at deputy

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Zoe Suzan Wiencek, 45, of Sarasota County, was arrested yesterday after allegedly causing a disturbance at a convenience store, giving a false name to a deputy, and then spitting at a deputy.

At about 1:10 p.m. on November 22, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to Circle K (9303 NW 39th Avenue), where the caller said a woman was yelling at a customer and trying to grab the customer’s child; the caller said the woman also pulled her pants down and exposed her genitals.

The deputy located a woman nearby who met the description provided by the caller, and she said her name was “Jessie Lee,” with a birthdate in 1979, but the deputy reported that there were no records for that name and birthdate.

The deputy reported that while he was speaking with the woman, she took a drink from an open can of beer on a public sidewalk, a violation of Alachua County’s open container ordinance.

The deputy arrested the woman for the open container violation and providing false identification information to a law enforcement officer.

In the patrol car, the woman reportedly complained that the handcuffs were too tight; when a deputy checked the handcuffs, the woman allegedly tried to spit on the deputy and said, “Enjoy the AIDS.”

At the jail, the woman was identified as Wiencek, with a date of birth in 1980.

Wiencek, whose address is listed as General Delivery in Sarasota County, has been charged with violating the County’s open container ordinance, providing false identification information to a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer without violence, and assaulting a law enforcement officer. Her full criminal history is unavailable, but she has arrests in Hernando and Manatee counties. Judge Robert Groeb set bail at $60,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    • Other counties don’t have a marketplace and government officials who open their arms and beg them to come

  • The judge should have imposed a higher bail amount. IMO, this sends a message to the officer that his safety was not a concern. She clearly was unstable at the time. The low bail amount allows her to go out and harm someone else. Sad.

  • Given it’s violent criminal history maybe these other counties have bigger oaks and shorter ropes forcing these animals to this county. Future HOA board member for Disgrace Market Place for sure.

  • She really needs to we put away somewhere for forever she is a danger and a threat to society.. period dot
