Staff report based on press release from Alachua County Fire Rescue

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – At about 2:23 a.m. on July 10, units from Alachua County Fire Rescue, Lacrosse Fire Department, and High Springs Fire Department responded to reports of a residential house fire in the 15400 block of NW 59th Drive.

Upon arrival, units found a fire in the garage, mostly self-extinguished. Crews finished extinguishing the fire, ventilated the smoke from the house, and treated a patient for minor injuries. The cause of the fire was a faulty refrigerator.

    • If this was the case, I am sure that they saved the contents for consumption later that night.
