FDOT plans traffic shift on NW 39th Avenue starting Sept. 16
Press release from Florida Department of Transportation
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – FDOT is planning a traffic shift on eastbound and westbound NW 39th Avenue (SR 222) between NW 95th Boulevard and NW 91st Street beginning Monday, Sept. 16.
Eastbound and westbound traffic will be shifted towards the outside of the roadway while crews perform roadway widening operations along the median. Bicycle lanes on NW 39th Avenue will be temporarily closed throughout this phase of construction. Bicyclists will use the outside travel lanes until the work in this phase of construction is complete and the bicycle lanes are restored.
FDOT expects the traffic shift to be in place until November 2024, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting. Drivers seeking real-time traffic alerts may visit www.FL511.com or download the FL511 app.
Is SR232 (53rd avenue) next? It’s a death trap with all the grooves and potholes.
