Press release from Florida Department of Transportation
HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host public meetings to discuss a proposed single-lane roundabout on State Road 45 (U.S. 41), south of Northwest 172nd Avenue.

Horrible idea!
There is way to much commerical traffic for a round about. Unfortunately with the amount of traffic SR 45needs to be four lanes after Tillman Acres. A traffic light would make better sense but no matter wgat you do its going to cost a lot of money. There is no way High Springs is ready to handle the traffic, calls for service, and utilities drain from this development. Nor are they ready for the Northern explosion of the population on a small town. If the development happens say goodbye to the small town charm, wildlife, quieter streets. Ask anyone who has a house near anytime fitness, tractor supply, or McDonalds how that night time lighting, and noise is working out.
Any road development should come after all the established roads in the area are repaired first and are pothole free and lines are painted correctly.
