Fifth-wheel RV destroyed in LaCrosse fire

Units from Alachua County Fire Rescue and the LaCrosse Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 7:48 p.m. this evening. Upon arrival, crews found a metal shed with a fifth wheel motor home fully involved. Crews made an attack on the fire and were able to extinguish it in about 10 minutes. There were no injuries or other structures threatened.

Alachua County would like to remind you to not overload electrical outlets and ensure all candles are extinguished prior to leaving home. The incident is under investigation by the Alachua County Fire Marshall’s office.

  • This type of thing will never happen in the new Springs County. It will be at least 50,000 years before any of their citizens evolve enough intelligence to invent fire.
