Fire crews fight fire at Bridgelight Apartments

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gainesville Fire Rescue and Alachua County Fire Rescue crews responded this morning to a structure fire at Bridgelight Apartments, 3006 SW 23rd Street. Arriving crews found heavy fire coming from the roof of the building and put out the fire.

There were no injuries from the fire, which was confined to one apartment. A cat was removed from an adjacent apartment. Occupants from one apartment are displaced, and the Incident Commander, Chief Don Campbell, is coordinating with the Red Cross to provide assistance. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
