Fire crews respond to vehicle fire that threatened house in Melrose

MELROSE, Fla. – At about 5 a.m. on April 17, units from Alachua County Fire Rescue and Melrose Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire near a home in Melrose.

Crews found a passenger vehicle fully involved in flames at a home on NE 218th Terrace, close to a residence. The fire was quickly extinguished, saving the residence. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
