Fire crews save home threatened by brush fire

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Fire crews responded to a brush fire that was threatening a residence this afternoon and saved the home. No injuries were reported.
Just before 3 p.m. on April 19, crews from Alachua County Fire Rescue, Melrose Fire Department, and Windsor Fire Department responded to a fire east of Waldo. Crews found a brush fire spanning two or three acres, with several outbuildings and vehicles already on fire and a residence beginning to catch fire. The crews quickly extinguished the fire encroaching on the residence, saving the home, and then worked to extinguish the brush fire.
No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation.
