Firefighters extinguish second-story fire

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Early this morning, firefighters extinguished a second-story fire in a home near the H. Spurgeon Cherry (Westside) pool.
At about 4:30 a.m. on July 15, Gainesville Fire Rescue crews responded to a house fire in the 3100 block of NW 9th Place and found heavy smoke coming from the two-story home.
The first two crews aggressively attacked the fire from inside the home, extinguishing the fire. There is significant smoke damage to the home, but no injuries were reported.


God bless our Firemen, they are unsung heroes, I note not a single comment here but mine. These guys risk their lives for others, they are in fact, heroes and deserve to be honored, appreciated, and praised.
