Firefighters protect RVs and structure from Campville area brush fire

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – At about 10 a.m. today, units from Alachua County Fire Rescue, the Melrose Fire Department, and the Windsor Fire Department responded to reports of a brush fire off NE CR 1474.
Alachua County Engine 62 arrived on scene and found a two-acre brush fire in heavy woods, moving quickly toward a parked recreation vehicle. Quick actions by these units protected two recreational vehicles and one structure and kept the fire contained to just over three acres. The Florida Forest Service responded and secured the perimeter of the fire with a fire line.
