First responders extricate man trapped in pickup truck in High Springs

HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – At about 12:38 p.m. today, multiple agencies responded to a crash between a pickup truck and a tow truck and extricated a man who was trapped in the pickup truck.
The accident occurred at the intersection of NW U.S. Hwy 441 and NW 202nd Street, and several callers reported the accident, which blocked traffic and left debris all over the roadway. Units from Alachua County Fire Rescue, High Springs Fire Department, and High Springs Police Department were dispatched, with a High Springs engine first on the scene at 12:45 p.m.
Crews freed the trapped man by 12:58 p.m., and he was transported to UF Health Shands as a trauma alert with a possible hip fracture.
The accident remains under investigation.

That intersection has gotten difficult with more traffic on 441.
Yes, this is a very dangerous part of 441. Traffic flows way too fast for people to enter 441 from local businesses, churches, and residential areas.
Maybe with all the traffic and new businesses in the area of the intersection a traffic signal is needed. Between the trash drop off and the new medical building that intersection has gotten worse also.
