Flags at half-staff in honor of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

Press release from the Office of Governor Ron DeSantis

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today Governor Ron DeSantis signed a Proclamation directing flags to be flown at half-staff on December 7 in honor of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

Governor DeSantis wrote:

“On December 7, 1941, over two thousand American soldiers, marines, sailors, and civilians were killed and over one thousand were injured in the Japanese attack on Naval Station Pearl Harbor. We remember the lives lost on that grave day and honor the brave veterans of World War II who fought for our great Nation and ultimately prevailed.

“As a mark of respect, I signed the attached Proclamation directing the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout the State of Florida from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, December 7, 2024.”

  • Most of these white liberal radicals around here could care less about anything other than theirselves. Mostly, how to fake being a minority (“I’m Indian!” or “Look, I hyphenated my last name to Hispanic – I qualify! – Ignore that I’m 100% white and from Canada Hayes-Santos). LOL

    • What has this got to do with Pearl Harbor? Have some respect, if not for the men who fought WW 2 you would have no freedom.

PS there is no such word has “theirselves” it’s themselves…

      • I thaat Steely Dan bees dead? LOL musta cane bak fro da grave!

Where does it say I don’t have respect for the people who served? Having severed 2 decades myself I give a lot more than just making prayers on holidays.

        • Since you served yourself, I would think you would have a better understanding of what it means to serve. Regardless, I sincerely thank you for your service.

  • These men should be remembered and honored forever, along with all WW 2 Vets. They saved the world from tyranny and deserve every act of remembrance and honor given them.
