Flags at half-staff in honor of Pulse Remembrance Day

Staff report

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Seven years ago, on June 12, 2016, a shooter claiming alliance to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant committed a horrific act of terrorism against the LGBTQ and Hispanic communities at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida. At the time, it was the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history. Forty-nine people were killed and fifty-three were wounded. As a mark of respect for the victims, their families, and the many affected by this tragedy, Governor Ron DeSantis has directed the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout the State of Florida from sunrise to sunset on Monday, June 12, 2023.

    • You’re confusing homosexuals with mentally ill transformers. Not the same. The T’s stand on them/their own. Don’t lump normal gay people in with those creeps.

  • Was it a travesty? Yes. But noa mtter how many Pride parades you hold, it won’t change the fact that homosexuality is a grave sin. In fact, the Bible explicitly states that those who practice it WILL NOT inherit the Kingdom of God. That means they go to hell. I will never celebrate or condone homosexuality, though I follow the command of Jesus to love everyone as myself.

    • So true! I bet they also oppose God’s will by eating cheeseburgers and wearing clothing made of TWO different cloths… straight to hell!
