Florida Congressional redistricting maps upheld in Federal Court

Press release from Florida Department of State
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A federal three-judge redistricting panel unanimously upheld Florida’s 2022 congressional redistricting maps. This decision follows a four-day bench trial in Tallahassee in late September 2023.
“This decision is vindication that Florida’s redistricting maps comply with Florida law and the U.S. Constitution,” said Secretary of State Cord Byrd. “We are very pleased with the outcome of this effort.”
The U.S. District Court states the following in their final per curiam: “Plaintiffs had to prove both discriminatory effects and a discriminatory purpose. They proved neither. Thus, [the Court] concur[s] in the decision to grant judgment in the Secretary’s favor.”

Wait for it, wait for it, the liberal meltdown begins…
Duh, common sense wins again in FLA!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
But not until greasy Dem lawyers and Dem media “Jim Crow 2” headline rush of fake news had to go out for years, first 💩👹🤡🍦🍦🍦D
Ludicrous ruling approving the worst kind of gerrymandering .The recent Alabama districting case on gerrymandering overturned by the US SC was a carbon copy of this one, so probably not the last we have heard of this. Anyone who thinks a state with 15% blacks is rightfully served by 6% of it’s House representation – and 1 of those in a majority white district – or a state that voted 49.8% for democratic candidates for governor and senator 6 years ago should have 71% of it’s US House seats held by Republicans is – like the governor – interested only in partisan advantage, not fair representation.
Several states have gone to non-partisan commissions for redistricting, instead of leaving it to the politicians, and any and all fair minded citizens favor that here and nationwide.
You can always move to one of the several states you speak of with non partisan commissions for redistricting you speak of and live free of any red waves. No one stopping you. Once again DJT has extended his hand to misguided folks. Take and feel better.
Duly noted that you DGAF about democracy and prefer partisanship at every opportunity.
Maybe Republicans run better candidates.
Not always the case and definitely not consistently.
Were you born yesterday? It’s called Gerrymandering.
That’s where you take a place like Gainesville/Alachua County and carve it so it’s power at the polls is split among enough districts to make them a minority in all of them. That’s how we end up with radical traitors like Kat – she tried to stop the votes of other states from counting and has not apologized – representing and area that always votes Democratic.
