Former anesthesiology resident sentenced to 10 years in prison for child pornography

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Travis Bryant, 30, a former anesthesiology resident at UF Health, was sentenced yesterday to 10 years in state prison for child pornography.

Bryant was arrested in February and charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of transmitting child pornography after Google reported child sexual abuse material on his Google Drive account and an investigation found that he had accessed the account from over 200 access points, including at UF Health.

In a prepared statement issued after Bryant’s arrest, UF Health’s Greg Harrison said, “Travis Bryant was hired as a resident with the Department of Anesthesiology of the College of Medicine in July 2022. He was placed on administrative leave from UF Health [yesterday]. Additionally, the University of Florida Police Department issued him a trespass warning, barring him from campus for three years.”

Bryant entered a plea of nolo contendere to all 11 charges, which carry a maximum sentence of 160 years in prison. Judge David Kreider sentenced him to 11 concurrent sentences of 10 years in state prison, and Bryant will be designated as a Sexual Offender.

  • Check out the faces in mugshots today…there’s some good ones!🤪

Shame about this guy…he had a promising career..

    • OMG. I noticed those mugshots too. Three in a row that looked like a kid was running the camera.

  • This is so sad! Getting as far as he got in the medical field is very hard and he threw it all out because of lust. He should have known to seek help but the list consumed him and now his life is ruined, he went from being on top to the lowest state in society. However, I am not excusing him, child abusers are the scum of the earth, even if they have a medical degree.

    • Maybe he can be treated & cured of his affliction and still be a Dr and a
      useful member of society …
