Former preschool teacher sentenced to 10 life sentences for sexually molesting multiple preschoolers

BY JENNIFER CABRERA

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Trevor Alex Hruby, 24, has been sentenced to 10 concurrent life sentences after entering a plea of nolo contendere to eight counts of sexual battery on a victim under the age of 12 and two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation on a victim under the age of 12.

Gainesville Police Department (GPD) responded to an abuse allegation at A Child’s Dream Daycare on September 13, 2021; their investigation revealed that Hruby had molested multiple children ages two and three years old. All of the incidents investigated by GPD occurred in 2021.

On January 5, Hruby entered a plea and was sentenced to 10 life sentences, served concurrently. He was previously sentenced in federal court to 120 years in federal prison for production of child pornography, and the life sentences will run consecutive to that sentence.

Assistant State Attorney Brooke King represented the State of Florida in prosecuting the case, and Judge Phillip Pena presided over the court hearing and sentenced Hruby.

    • Excellent comment!!!

      That’s EXACTLY what I said.

Absolute punishment never to see the free light of day!

  • Why have they changed or use the word molestation? Let’s call it what it is rape, it’s an ugly word, but that’s what it is. The left must have changed it from rape to molestation so they don’t offend the criminal. I don’t care about criminals feelings.

    • Incorrect. “Rape” is not a word used in Florida State Statutes. The word used is “sexual battery”. In addition, “sexual battery” and “molestation” are two different law violations as defined by state statute.

  • What is this “left” business. You need to perhaps get an education…if not a life. Sad when a person has nothing other than bias to filter life through.

  • one can hope bubba will abuse him in prison, get a taste of his own medicine. any sexual child abuse should be death penalty worthy!

  • Again, now three sex offenders found guilty of sex crimes involving children given a light sentence. 10 years per child would have been better. The judges and state attorneys are idiots.
