Forward Focus: Eastern Alachua County’s community input session in Monteocha

Press release from Alachua County
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Alachua County Commission is continuing its community input sessions for the Forward Focus initiative, which aims to improve quality of life, enhance economic opportunities, and address the needs of residents in Eastern Alachua County. An input session will be held in Monteocha at the Jerusalem Church of God by Faith Fellowship Hall (1230 NE 156th Avenue, Gainesville) on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 6 p.m. All residents, community leaders, and local business owners are encouraged to attend. This session follows previous meetings held in Hawthorne, Waldo, and Micanopy.
“The feedback we’ve received so far has been incredibly valuable,” said Assistant County Manager and Forward Focus Team Lead Missy Daniels. “We’re learning so much about the priorities and concerns of residents in Eastern Alachua County, and we encourage everyone to participate in these important conversations.”
During each meeting, attendees learn more about the goals and timeline of the Forward Focus project. They have the opportunity to provide feedback that will help shape a community-wide survey and connect with neighbors and local leaders.
These community input sessions play a vital role in developing a comprehensive strategy to meet the specific needs and aspirations of the region. After the Monteocha session, the Forward Focus Team plans to hold a listening session next month in Island Grove.

There were a whole bunch this morning, including a fairly long one by me. Mine was talking about doing things for the whole county like roads and the two main reasons large businesses failed on the east side
That must have been a different post. I didn’t post this press release until 5:39 p.m. today.
Thanks for checking. It does get confusing.
Black churches need to organize for this so their children stay in Gainesville for the jobs. Last time the county meetings only got Green activists, and BOCC turned it down. Happy with the results, District 1?
