Free Eviction Prevention Legal Clinic to be held on May 20 at the Tower Road Branch library

Press release from Alachua County Library District
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Alachua County Library District and Florida Legal Services are hosting a free Eviction Prevention Legal Clinic at the Tower Road Branch on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, beginning at noon.
Program information:
Are you facing eviction or struggling to pay rent? Need help with landlord or lease issues? Have questions about ending your lease early or problems with food stamps or other benefits? Are you dealing with issues like child support, warrants, fines, benefits appeal, or credit problems that affect your housing? If any of the issues relate to you, Florida Legal Services could help.
Come to the Tower Road Branch (3020 SW 75th Street, Gainesville, FL 32608) on Tuesday, May 20, at noon to speak with a representative from Florida Legal Services.
Landlords should NOT be responsible for people who do not pay rent.
Here’s a free clinic you may attend now:
– Pay your rent, and on time
– Don’t destroy your home or apartment
– Don’t act like an idiot or have friends/family over that do
– Don’t keep pets that pose harm to others
– Don’t sell drugs out of your home
Do those 5 things and your chance of being evicted is about zero.
The library sponsoring stuff like this is another reason that voters should be able to vote on sunsetting the property tax for it
Anyone want to join the ranks of a landlord in GVille? Especially when they teach potential renters how screw you out of rent $$$.
It looks like a hard leftoid “nonprofit” who get their funding from federal and state tax payers to teach people how to avoid paying their bills. Paging DOGE.
