Free tax assistance available at the Library District

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Tax season is here, and the Alachua County Library District and our partner organizations, AARP Tax-Aide and United Way VITA, are here to help citizens with filing their 2025 taxes.
AARP Tax-Aide Alachua County will provide free tax preparation services starting on Feb. 2, 2026, at select Library District locations, through April 15, 2026. United Way VITA will provide free tax preparation services starting on Jan. 30, 2026, at select Library District locations, through April 15, 2026. Individuals are allowed help with one tax return per one-hour session. Sessions are by appointment only, but walk-ins can be accepted if time permits. Due to the popularity of this service, appointments may not be available on the same day as requested. Saturday walk-in sessions are available on select dates at select locations.

***remember when it’s free you’re not the customer; you’re the product.
Don’t give AARP and United Way your data and ultimately your membership. They operate underhandedly.
The library district is another huge waste of property tax money.
