According to a release from Florida Highway Patrol, a 79-year-old Ft. White man and 3 Alachua residents were injured in a crash on CR 235 yesterday.
About 2:00 p.m., the Ft. White man’s pickup was traveling east on CR 235 near the 111,000 block, and a Mercury Tracer driven by a 29-year-old Alachua woman, with 6- and 7-year-old male passengers, was traveling west on CR 235. The man attempted a left turn in front of the woman’s vehicle and was struck head-on by the Mercury. The Ft. White man was cited for failure to yield right-of-way. All four persons were transported to UF Health at Springhill with minor injuries. All four were wearing seatbelts.
Amazing that no one was killed were seriously injured! This is one of my least favorite roads in all of the county.
Be careful out there, folks!
