Ft. White & Alachua residents injured in crash on CR 235

According to a release from Florida Highway Patrol, a 79-year-old Ft. White man and 3 Alachua residents were injured in a crash on CR 235 yesterday.

About 2:00 p.m., the Ft. White man’s pickup was traveling east on CR 235 near the 111,000 block, and a Mercury Tracer driven by a 29-year-old Alachua woman, with 6- and 7-year-old male passengers, was traveling west on CR 235. The man attempted a left turn in front of the woman’s vehicle and was struck head-on by the Mercury. The Ft. White man was cited for failure to yield right-of-way. All four persons were transported to UF Health at Springhill with minor injuries. All four were wearing seatbelts.

  • Amazing that no one was killed were seriously injured! This is one of my least favorite roads in all of the county.
    Be careful out there, folks!
