GAINESVILLE, Fla. – J’maka Pearl Williams, 32, a wanted fugitive, was arrested early this morning after allegedly battering an ex-boyfriend and causing extensive damage to his car.

At about 11 p.m. on January 17, Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an apartment in Tower Village and reportedly found extensive damage to the victim’s vehicle, including a smashed windshield and window, broken side mirrors, and dents. Williams was reportedly intoxicated and allegedly refused multiple orders to sit down; she also allegedly pulled away when deputies tried to detain her.

A deputy reported that the victim suffered a laceration on his face, a scratch on his neck, and multiple scratches on his chest. Williams reportedly had multiple cuts and scratches on her hands and feet, consistent with injuries that would be caused by breaking glass.

Williams has been charged with felony property damage, domestic battery, and resisting an officer without violence. She was also booked on a warrant from 2022 for violating probation; the Department of Corrections lists her as an absconder/fugitive. She has one felony conviction for child abuse and three misdemeanor convictions (non-violent). Judge Sean Brewer ordered her held without bail until the probation case is resolved and set bail at $20,000 on the new charges.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
