GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Kenneth Johnson, 53, was arrested late last night and charged with sexual assault on a child under 16 after a girl who had stayed at his home to help him when he was on crutches reported that he had raped her.
According to the arrest report, the girl is not related to Johnson by blood but had been brought to Johnson’s house because he said he needed help around the house while his leg was injured. She reportedly told investigators that one night while they were sitting on the couch, Johnson kissed her and then forcibly raped her.
Post Miranda, Johnson denied forcibly raping the victim.
Johnson has three felony convictions but no convictions on sexual offenses. He is being held on $150,000 bail.
