Gainesville man arrested after allegedly trying to drag woman out of broken window

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Eldrick Lydell Taylor, 43, was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with burglary with battery and property damage after allegedly breaking a window with a bucket and then trying to drag a woman out the window by her ankle.
An Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the victim’s home at about 2:30 a.m. on December 2 and reportedly found a broken window. The victim told the deputy that Taylor had thrown an empty bucket at the window, breaking it, and had grabbed her ankle and tried to drag her out of the window. She said she had previously dated Taylor. Taylor was arrested early Sunday morning.
Taylor has 11 felony convictions (one violent, one sexual offense) and 16 misdemeanor convictions (two violent). He has served one state prison sentence and was released in 2008. Judge George Wright set bail at $300,000.

11 felony convictions???? At what point does the public’s right to safety ever come into play? Why are these people with multiple convictions let loose on the innocent public? Ought to be like baseball, 3 strikes and you’re out! Or, in this case, in prison for life with no parole.
