Gainesville man arrested for aggravated battery after allegedly stabbing woman
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Altonio Lee Richardson, 42, was arrested yesterday morning and charged with aggravated domestic battery after allegedly stabbing a woman during an argument.
The victim reportedly told a Gainesville Police Department officer that she had gotten into an argument with Richardson on Monday evening over money. The victim reportedly told Richardson that she was leaving him and went to Smokey Bear Park. She said Richardson later found her at the park, and they got into another argument about the money; Richardson allegedly dragged the victim by her hair, and the victim said she tried to de-escalate the situation by telling Richardson he could have the money.
Richardson allegedly choked her and then sliced her with a foldable box cutter. As she was retreating, he allegedly stabbed her again. The officer reported that the victim had a two-inch cut on her arm that was about a quarter inch deep and a small puncture wound on her abdomen.
The victim told the officer that she waited two days to report the incident because she was afraid of retaliation.
Richardson has 15 felony convictions (three violent) and 45 misdemeanor convictions (10 violent). He has served five state prison sentences, with his most recent release in 2021. Judge Adam Lee ordered him held without bond pending a hearing on a motion by the State Attorney’s office to hold him without bail until trial.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Maybe they can give her some money from that Bloomberg disaster fund thing…we got a disaster with Grace Marketplace with the vagrants and panhandlers too…use that $150k to get the vagrants back to where they came from.
why isn’t this charged as attempted murder?

Apparently 15 felony convictions ( 3 ) violent and 45 misdemeanors ( 10 ) violent isn’t enough. Keep in mind, these are convictions. Imagine how many times he’s probably gotten off.
