GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Kendrick Sherwin McCray, 25, was arrested last night and charged with aggravated domestic battery and aggravated child abuse after allegedly threatening his girlfriend and her child with a gun.
A Gainesville Police Department officer responded to a call about dating violence last night at about 9:45 p.m. The officer reported that the victim had noticeable injuries that appeared to be a few days old. The victim was reportedly upset, and she told the officer that McCray had hit her in the face multiple times last Thursday.
The victim showed the officer a video of the incident that reportedly showed the victim and her child in a bedroom, with McCray staring at them with his right hand behind his back. The victim repeatedly asked him to “Stop with that gun” and said she was scared and her child was scared. The victim asked McCray to leave, but he did not leave during the video. The victim also mentioned that the gun was “off safety.” McCray eventually walked out into the hall, and the victim closed the door of the bedroom before the video ended. The child was in the room throughout the incident.
The victim gave officers consent to search the residence, where she said McCray occasionally spends the night. A search reportedly produced a Taurus G3 pistol in a plastic bag in the toilet tank and a BB gun in a kitchen cabinet. The Taurus has a safety, like the gun mentioned by the victim in the video.
The officer reported that after McCray arrived at the jail, he said, “Haha, no statements. You have no evidence. I’ll be out in the morning.”
McCray has a juvenile criminal history and a history of dropped domestic battery and child abuse charges. Adjudication was withheld on a 2017 misdemeanor battery charge. Bail information is unavailable because the charges involved a child, but he remains in the Alachua County Jail.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.Â
Another winner. The Ws just keep piling up.
I have to question the woman for hanging out with a loser like this bum. She also exposed her child to him. He’s got a bright future of in and out jail with us taxpayers supporting him.
Unfortunately, there aren’t enough real men to go around in that community. Most have been educated in the hood, instead of the schools. Lack of fathers, disrespectful rap, and the tolerance of the community add to it. Anyone seen a real role model for the community lately?
Natural selection. She should have chosen a better mate to have a child with…like father, like son.
Looks like he didn’t get out like he had planned Lol
Only answer to this is “Dumbass” sometime you just can’t fix that problem.
