Gainesville man arrested for armed robbery of Archer Road gas station

BY JENNIFER CABRERA

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Jonathan Charles Lee Nobles, 23, was arrested yesterday for allegedly robbing the cashier of an Exxon gas station on Archer Road at gunpoint and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

The cashier reported the robbery on June 2, stating that a man had come into the store at 3960 SW Archer Road at 1:40 a.m., pointed a gun at her, and demanded money from her. The cashier gave the man $218 from the cash register. She said the man then fled on foot toward someone he knew and told that man to run, too.

The other man was contacted by Gainesville Police Department officers a short time later and was arrested for drug possession and failure to pay child support. He told officers that he only knew the suspect as “Jonathan.”

The other man was re-interviewed the next day and gave a better description of the suspect, also saying he had lived at the Bridge House apartments at Meridian Behavioral Healthcare and then “hung out” at Grace Marketplace.

An employee at Meridian Behavioral Healthcare was able to identify Nobles from surveillance photos from the robbery and confirmed that he had lived at Bridge House but was evicted for testing positive for illegal narcotics. The employee also said that Nobles had lost his bed at Grace Marketplace.

Nobles has two felony convictions and has been charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held on $200,000 bail.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    • Why did this convicted felon have a gun? Isn’t that
Illegal? How can we prevent that? 10, 20, life! Be
A felon and get caught with a gun and you’re done!
The state needs to get serious about getting caught
With a gun If you’re a convicted felon, Right?

    • No family structure Also when governor Lawton CHILDES made the law it was illegal to discipline our children that’s when children and nosey people got out of hand I can speak because I was a single mother with 3 living on low income with two jobs and I’m white and yet I’m still supporting. They needed a whole family and Jesus and still do so instead of being a judge we as people. A Whole. Not to Judge need to TRY to come together and get to the ROOT AS A HUMAN to solve the Problem and instill the consequence that they will be facing People need to STOP TURNING HEADS WHEN THEY JUDGE AND RUN AND INCLUDE THERE SELVES to understand why……

      • MARIE, you are right, but remember family and support help , but at the end will be their choice. Like Judas… Jesus call him, he walked 3 years with Jesus witness many miracles…at the end was his decision.

  • My kids are mixed and if I would have had more of a family for structure without judgement and people thinking jail is the best place for them when they didn’t know how life works I know I could’ve given them a whole life so when things like this happen I shake my head and wonder what if we were all the same and could be peaceful living amongst one another the way God design us to be
