Gainesville man arrested for battery, sexual battery, and false imprisonment

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Roberto Fuentes Allende, 44, was arrested yesterday after allegedly preventing a woman from leaving his apartment for two days; during that time, he reportedly took her phone and sexually battered her, hit her, and kicked her until she gained access to her phone and called for a ride.

An Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Deputy reported that the victim went to Fuentes Allende’s apartment on March 20 to hang out, but after he consumed cocaine, he became paranoid and aggressive. Fuentes Allende allegedly took the victim’s phone, and when she fought back, he allegedly hit her in the face, causing a nosebleed.

Fuentes Allende allegedly told the victim she could not leave because she was covered in blood and she had to stay until the injuries healed; the victim said this was because Fuentes Allende had been convicted of falsely imprisoning another woman, and he did not want to get in trouble for doing it again.

At one point, Fuentes Allende allegedly picked up a mace-like weapon with a spiked ball on a chain and told the victim she could not leave before pushing her to the ground and kicking her so hard that she began to cough up blood.

Fuentes Allende allegedly attempted to rape the victim at one point and continued to physically attack her until March 22, when she got access to her phone and called a friend to pick her up.

The deputy noted that the victim had injuries all over her body that supported her story, and he also noted that Fuentes Allende has a previous conviction for an assault with “numerous similarities” to the incident with this victim.

Fuentes Allende has been charged with sexual battery, aggravated battery with bodily harm, robbery, and false imprisonment. He has two felony convictions (violent) and three traffic misdemeanor convictions. Judge Meshon Rawls ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold him without bail until trial. On March 31, Judge Denise Ferrero granted the motion and ordered him held without bail until trial.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

100K bail? Judge Rawls Really? For a violent repeat offender who nearly killed this lady. You are a joke.

  • In 2009, this POS radically did the same thing to another female here in Gainesville using a firearm. I hope they have his DNA in a database. All tge earmarks of a serial offender that needs to be put down like a rabid dog. I’m this lame judge didn’t even look at his past history before giving him bond.
