Gainesville man arrested for burglary, drugs, and possession of a firearm
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Kenneth Jerome Dupree III, 22, was arrested early yesterday morning and charged with six felonies and two misdemeanors after officers reportedly found drugs and a gun in his car.
Gainesville Police Department officers responded to a call at 3 a.m. on Friday about the theft of a tire from a vehicle at The Earl Apartments, 322 SW 72nd Blvd; officers determined that Dupree placed the tire on another vehicle and drove away.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and ordered him to get out of the car. Dupree reportedly got out of the car with his cell phone in his hand. When an officer commanded him to place the phone on the roof of his car, he allegedly fled.
During a foot pursuit, Dupree allegedly ignored multiple commands to stop before being apprehended. Once he was detained and placed in a patrol vehicle, officers searched his car.
The search reportedly produced a backpack containing 22.8 grams of MDMA and 2.58 grams of cocaine, along with a handgun and a ski mask.
Dupree has been charged with burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, theft, conspiring to traffic in cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of selling drugs, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and resisting arrest without violence. Dupree has three felony convictions for burglary, grand theft of a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Bail information is unavailable on weekends.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.Â
Another felon, another firearm…or is it another firearm, another felon?
They don’t care about obeying the laws on the books, what makes anyone think they’ll obey any new law? Better yet, if you say “No,” what makes you think they’ll care? Only an idiot would but I guess that’s pretty explanatory.
If you’re legally able, be prepared to protect yourself and your family. Most people arrested of late would just as soon shoot you before they shoot their own drugs.
Don’t be a menace in SW Gainesville. Ski mask will eventually get him shot.
Well you cannot lead a life of crime if you don’t start young!
This is such a waste of humanity.
I wonder if his IQ can be measured?
Hopefully he learns from this list of mistakes he made…and gets right back on track with his job search as soon as Walter Green reduces his bond to a ROR.
“Dupree has three felony convictions for burglary, grand theft of a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.”
Willing to take that chance with your family?
Sorry, meant to say, “who’s” willing to take that chance with “their” family.
My bad.
Keep him in jail this time. Lifetime criminal.
A case where 3 strikes and you get life in prison is appropriate for this criminal. The gun charge alone should be 5 years with no parole in federal prison.

More news from the taxpayer subsidized culturally bankrupt. Your welcome for my ongoing ‘commitment’ to providing the resources even though it was against my will & & better judgment too.
