Gainesville man arrested for displaying gun in McDonald’s drive-thru

BY JENNIFER CABRERA

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Curtis Ray Miller II, 25, was arrested last night and charged with aggravated assault after allegedly displaying a gun after the victim honked at him in a McDonald’s drive-thru.

Gainesville Police Department officers responded to the McDonald’s at 1206 W. University Avenue at about 11 p.m. after the victim reported that Miller had displayed a handgun.

The victim said he had honked at Miller in the drive-thru and that Miller had displayed the gun but had not pointed it at anyone. The victim reported that he immediately left the area and called 911.

When officers made contact with Miller, he reportedly said that he had a concealed carry permit. The officer reported that he removed an unholstered pistol from Miller’s lap that matched the description provided by the victim.

Post Miranda, Miller reportedly admitted raising the firearm out of the window of his car after the victim honked at him but said he didn’t point it at anybody. Officers also reported that Miller did not have a valid concealed carry permit.

Miller has no criminal convictions; Judge Thomas Jaworski set bail at $25,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • I’m a little confused…this guy gets a $25k bail by the judge but the girl who beat the guy at the Wawa gets $10k bail? Same judge by the way.

Anyone else have an issue with this? Maybe the liberal tails are wagging the legal dogs too much in this community. Perhaps it’s time to replace some judges next election cycle.

  • So Jaworski gives this guy a $25k bond for just showing someone he has a gun. But doesn’t threaten or even point it; only displays.
But the girl in the previous article beat the living hell out of the old white guy at Wawa, leaving him in a pool of blood & sending him to the hospital badly hurt. All over a plug outlet. She only gets a $10k bond.
Guess Jaworski is dialing 1-800-wokeness these days

  • There’s a concerning trend with youthful offenders in their late teens and early 20s. Someone is dropping the ball.

  • His nose tells me that he loses a lot of fist fights. Hence the crybaby brandishing a gun.
