Gainesville man arrested for pointing BB gun at passing neighbors

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Logan Scott Lawor, 24, was arrested yesterday after allegedly pointing a gun — later identified as a BB gun — at three neighbors who were walking a dog.

A responding Gainesville Police Department officer reported that at about 10:40 a.m. on April 26, the three victims were walking a dog in the 500 block of NW 35th Street; the husband of one of the victims reportedly told Lawor’s mother that if their dog charged at them and bit them, he would “have to put your dog down,” and he also told Lawor’s mother that they had a right to be on the public road.

The officer reported that at that point, Lawor came out of the house with a black handgun that was later found to be an Airsoft BB gun. Lawor allegedly brandished the gun at the three victims’ legs, yelling and gesturing that they should keep walking down the street. The victims were reportedly in fear for their safety.

The officer reported that when he spoke to Lawor, Lawor said he was not thinking clearly and may have overreacted; he also said the handgun was a BB gun, he wasn’t sure whether it even worked properly, and he did not know there was a child involved.

The officer reportedly reviewed doorbell camera video that showed Lawor walking down the driveway toward the victims, with a firearm in his hand. The video also reportedly showed Lawor waving the gun at the victims. The officer noted that the victims were lawfully present in the road when Lawor threatened them.

Lawor has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony. He has no criminal history, and Judge George Wright set bail at $30,000.

  • That could have turned out fairly bad for ding dong if any of the victims were CCW that day.

  • This guy is an idiot. However, the fact that he is being treated more seriously than the three gang-bangers who are already convicted felons should shock your conscience. There is a 99% chance that this fool will hurt someone, yet there is a 100% chance that those thugs will re-offend. I really do not understand what our judges are thinking.

  • Hope this fool learned a lesson. If you are going to commit aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony, make sure you have been convicted of 30+ felonies first.

That way, the activist judges will let you off without bail.
