Gainesville man arrested for punching woman following road rage incident

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Travis Daniel Agosto, 31, was arrested yesterday evening and charged with punching a woman he had never met until they were involved in a road rage incident.
At about 3:30 p.m. on December 7, the victim told a Gainesville Police Department (GPD) officer that she was stopped at the intersection of SW 34th Street and SW 35th Place when she told a motorcyclist, who had been following her too closely, to back off. The motorcyclist reportedly responded aggressively, causing her to also respond aggressively. The motorcyclist then reportedly got off his motorcycle and started attacking the victim, who also got out of her car. The motorcyclist allegedly pushed her, punched her in the head, and tackled her to the ground, then fled the area. The victim’s injuries included a tear to her ear piercing that required six stitches.
The victim’s sister caught the alleged attack on video and was able to show it to the officer. She also posted it on TikTok, and a woman who knew Agosto saw the video and notified GPD that the motorcyclist was Agosto. Based on Agosto’s driver’s license photo, the officer agreed that the motorcyclist appeared to be Agosto.
Agosto has been charged with felony battery. He has no previous Alachua County criminal history and is being held on $42,500 combined bail on this and another case.

GPD seems a lil to lenient tho so he may be just fine even tho he hurt and beat a female up. I’m sure they’ll just write it off sadly. But yeah type in his name dude ain’t knew to crime at all. I rode with him about a few months back but he been acting a lil strange lately. Really quick tempered and he Carries so I haven’t been around him at all since then. I’ve known him for a year and he’s been kinda more wild as time goes on. Dudes crazy out there😂
He probably came here because he thinks it’s a bunch of soft/weak woke people with mashed potatoes for brains. I wish he was completely wrong (he’s not completely wrong). I think I recognize him as one of the three or four guys who used to raise hell by racing and revving their bikes all over Northeast Gainesville late at night, around 3 in the morning.

I myself have seen him driving recklessly numerous times and weaves in and out of traffic and almost hitting pedestrians, also he himself was almost hit because he took a red light. I try not to engage with people like him for this exact reason. I recognized him immediately when I saw his pic and said to myself finally, one less crazy off the streets for the time being.
He is not trash, he is actually a very good soul who may have did a stupid thing as a 18 year old kid but unless you really know this guy you should not speak ill of him! He has a heart of gold and videos do not always show everything!
This article leaves out facts, the ex girlfriend was seeking revenge for the relationship ending. The ex- girlfriend actually lives and works in the NW section yet the incident took place a block from his home.. she and her friend are not such innocent people. The ex has done this to another man in the recent past. The truth always comes out in the end.
