Gainesville man arrested for sending threatening messages to former girlfriend

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Isaiah Jeremiah Gordon, 19, was arrested yesterday for allegedly threatening to kill a former girlfriend.

The responding Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy reported that the juvenile victim dated Gordon for about a month in the past but had not spoken to him since they broke up. The victim reportedly showed the deputy several TikTok messages in which Gordon threatened to kill her and “snatch up” her family members. One message reportedly threatened to “set da casket n dat [tombstone] up,” and another mentioned killing her and “6feet.” Another message said Gordon threatened to put the victim “in the ground.” The victim and her family said they feared for their safety and believed Gordon had the ability to carry out the threats.

A deputy spoke with Gordon at his residence on October 21, and post Miranda, Gordon denied sending any threatening messages to the juvenile victim, but he reportedly gave the deputy consent to look through his phone. The deputy reported finding the same text messages on Gordon’s phone.

Gordon has been charged with making written threats to do bodily harm and using a two-way communications device to facilitate a felony. He has juvenile convictions between 2018 and 2022 and an unspecified criminal history in Georgia in 2023. Judge Jonathan Ramsey set bail at $60,000 and prohibited him from using the internet.
