Gainesville man arrested for sexual battery on 5-year-old

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Emilio Avalos Angel, 51, was arrested today and charged with sexual battery on a child under the age of 12.
A release from Alachua County Sheriff’s Office stated that Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Detective J. Dillon and Pinellas Park Police Department Detective Cpl. W. Vater worked on the case because Avalos Angel was accused of the same crime in both jurisdictions.
The Alachua County charges stem from an incident in 2014 when Avalos Angel is accused of sexually battering a 5-year-old relative in his care. He is facing similar charges in Pinellas County.
