Gainesville man arrested for threatening to kill a man with a knife
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – David Christ Brown, 63, was arrested yesterday after allegedly threatening to kill a man with a knife.
At about 3:43 p.m. on January 16, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a mobile home in Palms of Archer (7117 SW Archer Road), where a caller said Brown was waving a knife around and threatening to kill another resident of the home.
Brown reportedly became upset after he saw text messages on another person’s phone and thought the victim was being disrespectful toward the other person; he allegedly started yelling at the victim and said he was going to kill him, and then he picked up a knife from the kitchen.
The other person reportedly tried to get between Brown and the victim, but Brown pushed past the other person and moved toward the victim, who retreated into a bedroom and tried to close the door. Brown allegedly banged on the door but eventually gave up, walked away, and left the home in a vehicle. Deputies saw the vehicle leaving the complex, conducted a traffic stop, and detained Brown.
Brown has been charged with domestic aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He has two felony convictions (one violent) and two misdemeanor convictions (one violent); he was arrested in March 2025 for threatening to hit a woman with a four-foot wooden post and was sentenced to 170 days in jail with credit for 170 days served after entering a plea of nolo contendere to the charge. Judge Sean Brewer set bail at $150,000 on the new charge.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

What is it with this bunch. They are useless and nonproductive members of society yet they demand respect. For what???
He wanted to kill someone just because they had a knife??
As I read it, he had the knife.
Likely the knife was sharper than this clown.
Obvious violent offender that keeps repeating the cycle. He will keep going till he gets life in prison for killing someone.
His track record is showing no signs of trying to be a better human being and he needs to be locked back up before he does kill someone. Definitely has anger issues that he needs to learn how to control. And longer than 170 days this time judge!
