Gainesville man arrested for throwing car jack through windshield

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Charnavis Arkeem Queen, 35, was arrested on October 22 after allegedly throwing a car jack through the windshield of an occupied vehicle.
The responding Gainesville Police Department officer reported that at about 5:20 a.m. on October 19, the victim was driving away after arguing with Queen when Queen threw a car jack at the victim’s windshield, causing about $700 in damage.
The officer reported that the car jack was stuck in the vehicle’s windshield. He was unable to locate Queen at the time of the incident, but a warrant for Queen’s arrest was issued on October 21, and he was arrested on October 22.
Queen has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and property damage. He has one felony conviction (violent) and three misdemeanor convictions (two violent), and he is facing a sworn complaint from 2020 for domestic battery. He has served one state prison sentence for attempted felony murder and was released in 2022. Judge Adam Lee ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s office to hold him without bail until trial. On October 29, Judge Denise Ferrero granted the motion, and Queen will be held without bail until trial.
