Julian Lee Myhand, 32, was arrested last night and charged with simple battery and burglary of an occupied conveyance after he “hit on” a woman sitting in a car at Dollar General.
Two women who were buying supplies for work parked at the Dollar General on SW 13th Street at about 11:00 p.m. last night, and one of them went into the store. Myhand reportedly approached the woman who was still sitting in the car and began “spewing vulgarities in an effort to hit on” her. The woman told the responding officer that she told Myhand to leave her alone, but she could not roll up the window because it was broken.
Myhand allegedly reached into the car and grabbed the woman in a sexual manner, at which point she got out of the vehicle, and Myhand reportedly ran away and told her he was going to get her.
The woman who had gone into the store told the officer that she saw Myhand reach into the vehicle and grab the other woman.
Post Miranda, Myhand reportedly said spontaneously that he didn’t touch anyone, although he had not yet been told why he was being detained. He also reportedly changed his story several times regarding whether he had touched the woman and where he had touched her.
Myhand has three felony convictions and was most recently released from state prison on March 31, 2022. He is being held on $75,000 bail.
