Gainesville man charged with pointing gun at girlfriend

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Cordarius Deshawn Lemar Davis, 24, was arrested yesterday for allegedly pointing a gun at his girlfriend’s face.

At about 6 p.m. on November 13, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to The Crossings at Santa Fe (3205 NW 83rd Street) and cleared the caller’s apartment. The deputy made contact with Davis, placed him in handcuffs for officer safety, and asked him what happened.

Davis reportedly said he had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend and she started hitting him; he said he got tired of that and shoved her. Post Miranda, Davis reportedly added that he had grabbed his gun, pointed it at her, and said, “I will do something to you.”

The victim reportedly said they had gotten into an argument, and Davis pointed his gun at her torso. She said she got up and Davis pointed the gun at her face. She said she ran out of the apartment.

Davis has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He has no criminal convictions, and Judge Susan Miller-Jones ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s office to hold him without bail until trial.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • I love how we don’t bother putting “quotes” around boyfriend and girlfriend anymore. …

  • It’s not like he pulled the trigger. He just pointed the gun at her. The law messed up. Trump cops suck.
