Gainesville man killed in single-vehicle accident overnight
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A 55-year-old Gainesville man was found deceased this morning after a caller reported that a pickup truck had crashed into a tree.
According to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident was discovered at about 8:15 a.m. on January 21, but the investigation determined that the crash had occurred the previous evening.
The investigation found that the man had been driving a pickup truck northbound on NW 107th Terrace when the vehicle traveled off the roadway to the right near NW 11th Avenue; the truck traveled through a ditch and then into some bushes before hitting a tree. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing. According to the release, the driver was wearing a seatbelt.

A shame the guy was discovered so late. Hopefully he didn’t suffer.
This also happened in Earleton early morning hours of the 20th of Jan on Co Rd 1469, where a single car first side-swiped an Oak tree and then hit the next larger Oak tree, and the Kia car appeared to be in pieces. No word on who or what status of survival to the driver. It appeared to have happened around 2 a.m.,,, living in the area woke me up with all the flashing lights. I hoped to find the driver had survived and do pray so and all those affected by the accident.
Nice quiet neighborhood….then BOOM! Everyone went to bed at 9 and were dreaming of their 401k balances and thus did not wake to investigate the miscreant running his truck into the HOA maintained landscape.
Wow! What is wrong with you? A man has a heart attack while driving. His father lost a son, his daughter lost a father, & his grandchild lost a grandpa that all he did was praise how excited he was to be that grandpa & father. What a terrible thing to say!!!
