Gainesville man killed in single-vehicle crash in Newberry

Staff report from Florida Highway Patrol release

NEWBERRY, Fla. – A 45-year-old Gainesville man was killed last night when his car hit a tree in Newberry.

At about 10:25 p.m. on March 14, the Gainesville man was driving a Chevrolet Camaro eastbound on NW 4th Avenue when the car veered right near NW 251st Street, crossing onto the south shoulder and colliding head-on with a tree. The driver was pronounced deceased at a local hospital. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, he was not wearing a seatbelt.

  • so my 1st question is why was he going so fast on this side street in only 1 block because he just turned off 250th st (41) and never made it 1 block to 251st St before he hit a tree? So I am guess he stopped on the gas as soon as he turned and lost control no seat belt cause of death. So maybe him hitting the tree was the better than him driving into someone’s house because there’s nothing but houses close to road right there.

  • He does have grieving family so, it’s best that you let law enforcement handle this investigation. Thanks🙏🏾

    • Law enforcement and the Medical Examiner often make mistakes in traffic death investigations, and sometimes it is on purpose, stay vigilant and verify.
I got hit by a pregnant woman, the baby died, GPD made a false report that said I hit her, and then gave me a crash report that said she hit me.
The medical examiners report said I hit her in both the driver and passengers side.
She was on Facebook saying someone took her angel from her, knowing dead well she failed to yield the right of way and tboned me, then she committed fraud on the death of her own baby, collected 25k and was pregnant again within 60 days of the accident, that child is now 7-8 years old now, and I’m sure he will never know, the only reason he exists is because momma killed his brother and good old Alachua county blamed it on a black man and covered it up.
Remember there is the accident investigation and then the insurance case, make sure the paperwork lines up in both parts, they made it look like she was at fault for the accident investigation, but used the falsified paperwork to screw me in the insurance part of it.
When State investigators sent the case to the local state attorney, they made a deal with my insurance adjuster and never told me about it.
You people don’t understand that Gainesville is still a jim crow town, they just do it in an advanced way.

  • No matter how fast he was going or what he was doing at the time it’s still a tragedy. He was a father and a son. Prayers for the family ❤️
