Gainesville sexual offender arrested for fraudulent voting

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Daniel W McLean, 63, was arrested yesterday and charged with willful voting by an unqualified voter for allegedly voting in 2020 in spite of being disqualified as a registered sexual offender.
McLean was one of nine sexual offenders who were referred to State Attorney Brian Kramer by Supervisor of Elections Kim Barton last August. McLean allegedly registered to vote on January 22, 2020 and voted early in the 2020 General Election.
McLean was convicted of sexual battery in 1998 and served a prison sentence of five years and four months. He has two other felony convictions, with the most recent conviction in 2018. Although the warrant for his arrest recommended bail of $25,000, Judge Thomas Jaworski released him on his own recognizance.

I know this guy. He’s a good dude. He had a one nite stand with a woman who got “buyers remorse” the next day and said I was drunk and you raped me. He might be a sex offender on paper but he is the farthest thing from that in real life. I mean this guy led a Bible study I went to for years. And those 2 felonies he’s had since are simply Failure to Registers, which is a joke that he’s still having to register as a sex offender all these years later over something he really didn’t even do. Some of these felons who voted are bad dudes- this is not one of them. Shame on Kim Barton and all the ignorant people who voted for her- this woman is at the root of all of this.
I might be sympathetic if he had not failed to register (twice) and then pushed it by voting as a felon…….Are those not the actions of a man who refuses to accept that “no” means “no”? Do not actions speak louder than words?

TuMama, I’m not giving the guy sympathy. I said that wench Kim Barton at the election office had her staff go to the jail and tricked inmates into believing they could legally vote. She should be charged for voter fraud (X10) at least. Among other charges for having people sent to prison.
McLean was not in jail when he registered to vote.

It took over two years since he registered Jan ‘20 until they noticed and reported it? Why isn’t it immediate, in this age of electronic credit checks? You know why.
