Gainesville woman arrested for 5 shoplifting incidents in 9 days at the same store

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Tina Marie Rodstrom, 35, was arrested last night and charged with organized retail theft after allegedly shoplifting from the same store five times in nine days.

On January 31, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to the CVS at 1621 SW 13th Street, where an employee provided surveillance video that reportedly showed Rodstrom walking into the store on multiple days, going to the drink coolers, taking multiple beverages, and walking out without paying.

The officer’s investigation found that Rodstrom had taken a total of 27 items, valued at $86.93, in five incidents over nine days. Specifically, Rodstrom allegedly stole items from the store on January 23, 26, 28, 29, and 31.

The store employee provided the officer with Rodstrom’s name, contact information, and place of employment, and the officer noted that her driver’s license picture matched the person in the CVS surveillance photos. Rodstrom was arrested at a nearby business.

Post Miranda, Rodstrom reportedly admitted to the thefts.

Rodstrom has been charged with petit theft with two or more prior theft convictions and organized retail theft (five times in 30 days or more than 10 items), both felonies. She has five felony convictions (non-violent) and seven misdemeanor convictions (non-violent); she has served one state prison sentence and was released in 2021. Judge Gloria Walker set bail at $1,000.

  • 1000 dollar bond for a five time convicted felon. Prison stay was for felony theft. She is not very good as a thief, maybe a new career is in order as a city ambassador.
