Gainesville woman arrested for DUI after driving into house

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Shakira Armonni Keawsha Warmack, 28, was arrested early yesterday morning and charged with DUI with damage to property after her car hit a house, causing an estimated $20,000 of damage.

A Gainesville Police Department officer responded to the 600 block of NE 8th Avenue at about 4:43 a.m. yesterday morning, where a car allegedly driven by Warmack had crashed into a house.

Warmack reportedly said she was traveling west on NE 8th Avenue when an unknown small animal darted across the road, causing her to swerve, lose control of her car, and crash into the home. The damage to the home was estimated at about $20,000.

Warmack reportedly performed poorly on field sobriety exercises and refused to provide a breath sample.

Warmack, who works in child care according to court records, has one felony conviction from 2017 for a scheme to cash fraudulent checks. Judge Walter Green released her on her own recognizance.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • Don’t fret people. Refusal to blow is an immediate DL suspension in Florida.
In fact, a driving privilege consent to blow is on the back of her DL’s/ID, and the consequences of a refusal. The penalty for DWLSR with knowledge has become more severe as well.
At this point, Watson’s, Elite, or Moffos has what is left of her car at their impound yard @ like $80.00 a day for storage.
They WILL wait you out, get a direlict motor vehicle title, and have it crushed for their beer money, whilst you surf through your DUI charge.
The cost of the repairs to the house will result in a lien being placed against your driving privilege, in the nigh future.
Not to mention DUI class, fines, probation, alcohol treatment classes, 6 months to a year suspension, (1st offense) and whatever else the DMV Administrative requirements are going to be for her case.
The FLDMV just ain’t processed this one yet, but they are their own court system, outside of Alachua County’s Criminal Traffic offenders system.
Finally, you best get a RTS pass, because you not driving in Florida legally for a hot minute.
If you ain’t sobered up and realized by now, YDFU!!!

    • I have personally seen people with DL’s expired and reinstated 10+ times with several DUI’s, I assure you it’s a slap on the wrist in most cases

  • “Judge Walter Green released her on her own recognizance.”

And there you have it! Vote NO on Judge Green!

  • I’ll guarantee you she is back out driving as you read this. Judge Green is literally laughing at the person who is now wondering how they’ll be able to afford the loan to fix their home. Disgusting

  • There may be some correlation here. She crashed while driving her car and she works in child care.
Perhaps watching children is what drove her to drink? Many have said how underappreciated and underpaid teachers are.

    Not condoning, just saying.
