Gainesville woman arrested for hitting co-worker with metal pipe after she was fired

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Michelle Elizabeth Boone, 26, was arrested yesterday for allegedly hitting a co-worker with a metal pipe and hitting another co-worker with her scooter after she was fired from her job; she also allegedly fled from a deputy on her scooter.

According to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy, at about 4:30 p.m. on December 2, Boone was terminated from her job at Burger King (9401 NW 39th Avenue) and yelled profanities at two co-workers as she left; the two co-workers reportedly followed her to make sure she left the property.

As one co-worker was holding a door open for her to leave, Boone allegedly picked up her electric scooter and threw it at him, striking him in the groin area. The second co-worker tried to escort Boone off the property, but she allegedly walked to his truck and tried to vandalize it. When he yelled at her to leave the area, she allegedly went into a wooded area south of the restaurant, picked up a metal pipe, and hit the second co-worker in the shoulder area. The deputy reported that when he arrived, the second co-worker was in obvious pain and was unable to move his right arm.

The deputy reportedly found a two-foot metal pipe nearby, and the second co-worker reportedly confirmed that it was the object used by Boone.

A witness reportedly told the deputy that she saw Boone pick up the metal pipe and hit the second co-worker.

Another deputy reportedly saw a black female riding a scooter southbound on NW 91st Street a short time later and attempted a traffic stop, but Boone allegedly refused to stop and was eventually arrested at about 6:25 p.m. in an open field on the Santa Fe College campus.

Post Miranda, Boone reportedly admitted to hitting the first co-worker, hitting the second co-worker with a metal pipe, and “running” from the traffic stop.

Boone has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, fleeing with lights and sirens active, and battery. She has one non-violent misdemeanor conviction. Judge Meshon Rawls ordered her held without bail on the aggravated battery charge, pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s office to hold her without bail until trial; if the judge denies the motion, bail will be set at that hearing. Judge Rawls set bail at $35,000 on the other two charges.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • “Boone was terminated from her job at Burger King ”

Oh no….I guess she actually couldn’t have it her way after all?

  • Technically, she was no longer a co-worker given the loss of employment.
Just want to make sure the SAO doesn’t have the case dismissed on a technicality.

    • 😂 Looks like some bleeding heart liberal didn’t like your answer. Maybe he/she/it will offer her a job.

      Not gonna happen.

  • 🤣 they put her in the turtle suit

She obviously was still wilding out when she got to the jail and didn’t know they got a remedy for that there 😂
