Gainesville woman arrested for pointing gun at two people
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Juerkira Knikel Shiloh Nobles, 18, was arrested yesterday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery; she was also arrested on a warrant for allegedly attacking a different victim last November.
At about 2:30 p.m. on Monday, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to Horizon Sunset Apartments, 1515 NW 10th Street, where Nobles had reportedly parked to wait for the two victims. When they arrived, she allegedly attacked the first victim and tried to pull her out of her vehicle; the second victim had gone into an apartment but came outside and reportedly saw Nobles hitting the first victim.
Nobles saw the second victim go back into the apartment and took a firearm from her vehicle, believing that the second victim would come outside with a gun. Nobles allegedly brandished the gun at both victims, causing the first victim to reverse her vehicle into Nobles’ vehicle. The responding officer reported that video surveillance footage showed Nobles fleeing the area.
The first victim told the officer that she didn’t see the gun until Nobles was about to leave, but she heard her threaten to shoot the second victim while pointing the gun at her.
While the officer was at the scene, Nobles’ mother reportedly arrived, and the officer had a consensual conversation with Nobles. When she was asked what happened, Nobles reportedly admitted taking out a gun, but she said it was a “toy” gun. She reportedly admitted getting into a “fight” with the first victim.
A search of the area reportedly produced a live 9mm bullet where Nobles’ vehicle had been parked.
The warrant was for a November 9 incident near Howard Bishop Middle School. Nobles allegedly approached the victim while she was sitting at a picnic table and asked her if she wanted to fight. The victim reportedly said she didn’t, then turned to put her bag and other items on the table. While the victim was facing away from Nobles, Nobles allegedly punched her in the face, then dragged her out of her seat by her hair and then dragged her around the area. A witness broke up the fight, and another witness reportedly captured the incident on video. One of the witnesses provided her school profile to the responding officer.
Nobles has a juvenile criminal history but no adult convictions. Prosecutors filed notice of their intention to ask a judge to hold her without bond until trial; in the meantime, Judge Susan Miller-Jones ordered her held without bond on the new charges and set bail at $20,000 for the previous battery charge.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
She so angry. Tranquilo
I feel kind of bad for this 18-year-old woman. She obviously doesn’t have much parental guidance or assistance. She was evicted from an apartment earlier this year. I can’t imagine one of my kids at age 18 going through that. She is obviously acting out of frustration and discouragement. That doesn’t justify criminal behavior, but I can see how she would resort to those things for her own survival. It’s very sad.
Pray 🙏 the kids seek to talk with counselors about frustrations before it’s gets to late.. You will feel so Much better..also…and better your self….
I’ll pray…they keep her locked up away from us!
Seriously, you feel sorry for her? She could of stayed in school, got an education, had a job.. She was 18. At 17 she could have joined the military as I did. Got a trade. Now she can wash dishes in prison, where she absolutely belongs
you clearly have zero understanding of how life, trauma, and violence work. You need to have an established foundation of beliefs in order to make “rational” decisions like joining the military or getting an education to get yourself out of a bad situation. If all you have been around your whole life is poverty and violence and nobody has ever instilled in you the belief that you deserve or are capable of better- you have no frame of reference to even know how to begin caring about your future or believing you even have one. If a young woman at 18- brain not even fully developed- has found herself in a lifestyle of violence it’s obviously the result of things beyond her control. Yes, violent crimes deserve consequences. Criminals are human beings who deserve empathy and the chance at rehabilitation. Writing someone off at 18- practically a child- and deciding that their life’s worth is “washing dishes in prison” because they made some bad decisions is proof enough that doing things your way has left you a heartless human being- just as detrimental to society as a criminal.
Well said. Not enough empathy in this world. There seems to be a lot of people here who think having empathy for people is the same thing as thinking they should be able to get away with crimes. It is, in actuality, possible to have empathy for someone and still believe in consequences.
So, she can come and stay with you?
I never said she shouldn’t be in jail for her crime, dodo bird. Reading comprehension isn’t a strong suit of yours.
It is time to quit blaming someone’s bad actions on everything else..Life is hard, at any age. When I joined the military at 17.it was a choice, that or juvenile detention. I had already been on my own since I was 15. This was 1967. A year later, Vietnam. So please, don’t preach to me about how hard she had it and had no choice.
As I said, doing things your way has left you an apathetic and heartless person- which is just as detrimental to our society and community as a criminal. I never said that she doesn’t deserve consequences for her crime- only that she does deserve empathy and not to be written off for good at 18 the way you did in your original comment. Fix your heart, dude.
Yes because constantly seeking out people to attack and pointing guns at people in the community is for her, “survival”. I’m sure you also feel bad for the child molesters who are only sexually abusing kids for their own survival as well.
your username is ironic considering your lack of logical reasoning and general understanding of the human brain
Dahlia is our savior! She is a genius. She’s already determined this misfit bully’s life circumstances. Post her bail and take her in Dahlia.
Point out where I said she shouldn’t be in jail.
The govt EATS 40% of the economy and STILL can’t solve personal, private, mental and family issues. It’s not complicated: hold parents and relatives accountable until offspring and kin straighten out, no matter how old they are, via surtaxes. Even if they’re middle aged, tax the kin.
20,000 dollar bail???? Judge Susan Miller-Jones and her silly hyphenated name need to be voted out as soon as possible.
She is a menace to society at just 18, should be no bail.
Why was she allowed to visit a Section 8 open, ungated, unfenced, taxpayer-subsidized housing area? Only 18, she should be told to leave for Ocala.
