Gainesville woman arrested for stealing elderly relative’s money

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Vision Cierra Wilson, 44, was arrested yesterday and charged with exploiting an elderly woman after she allegedly made purchases using an elderly relative’s bank account.

On January 9, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a call from Wilson’s family members, who said Wilson had taken money from an elderly relative’s account without permission; Wilson reportedly had permission to use the victim’s debit card to make purchases for the victim, but she had not been given permission to use it in recent weeks.

The deputy reported that 19 unauthorized transactions totaling $739.73 were made between January 2 and January 8, 2026.

Post Miranda, Wilson reportedly admitted to using the victim’s debit card without her permission and said she knew it was wrong. She said she had the victim’s bank account information saved on her phone and used the debit card information “to pay for data on my phone.”

Wilson has been charged with exploitation of an elderly person, fraudulent use of personal identification information, petit theft, and unlawful use of a two-way communications device.

As of Wilson’s last local arrest in 2020, she had two felony convictions (non-violent) and eight misdemeanor convictions (one violent). Judge Donna Keim set bail at $15,000.
