Gainesville woman arrested for stealing over $4,700 from disabled brother

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Jocelyn Monique Hill, 34, has been charged with grand theft and forgery after allegedly using old checks to steal over $4,700 from her disabled brother’s bank account.
The issue was reported to Gainesville Police Department after the victim’s caretaker discovered that six checks for a total of $1,698.20 had been written from the victim’s account. The caretaker obtained the cleared checks from the bank and reportedly found that they had been made out to Hill.
The officer reported that the victim did not give Hill permission to write checks on his behalf, and the victim does not interact with Hill. The investigation determined that Hill found the old checks when she was helping to clean out her mother’s residence.
Responses to a subpoena reportedly showed that Hill wrote 14 checks to herself for a total of $4,751.12.
The officer reported that Hill moved to Jacksonville in January 2024, and officers were unable to locate her when the sworn complaint was filed in March 2024, but a warrant for her arrest was issued in February 2026 with a Gainesville address. She was arrested on March 31 by a Cross City Police Department officer after a traffic stop and was transported to the Alachua County Jail.
Formal charges of grand theft and forgery have been filed. Hill has six felony convictions (non-violent), three misdemeanor convictions (non-violent), and two traffic convictions. Judge Denise Ferrero set bail at $30,000 in the arrest warrant, and Judge William Davis confirmed that bail.

Poor Alan, I don’t understand how its Republicans at fault since Democrats have been holding minorities back by keeping in them in low income housing in the worse parts of town, passing tge buck when if comes to education. Local democrats have been in charge for ions just ask any GOP hating democrat in Alachua County. While locally if the democrats have had the pulse of minorities needs then why are local minorities in such shambles? Why are black people still trying to kill off their own race.? Why do we need to have all these black on black violence coalitions if the local democrats in charge have been handling the issues at hand? Seems like they provide low income housing so people can have a roof over their heads, and the cost to build such housing is less if the property the building stand on is inexpensive, which means less desirable areas.

This behavior is the result of upbringing. One should learn the difference between right and wrong from one’s parents. The nuclear family was attacked and the father replaced by government with the advent of LBJ’s ‘Great Society’. The Almighty knew what He was doing when He created the 2-parent family.
