Gainesville woman arrested for stealing phone and trying to hack ex-boyfriend’s accounts

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Taylor Cheyanne Jacque Walker, 31, was arrested last night for allegedly taking a phone belonging to her ex-boyfriend, trying to hack his accounts, and using the phone to contact and harass his family members, pretending to be him.

A Gainesville Police Department officer wrote that the victim reported on July 21 that he was receiving authentication codes for his cellular account, and he believed Walker was trying to hack the account. The victim also said that Walker had closed his business account with the state of Florida by filing articles of dissolution, which required him to go to Tallahassee and confirm his identity to reopen the account.

The victim said he and Walker broke up over a year ago, and at that time, he revoked her ability to access any of his accounts.

On July 24, the victim reported that a phone and iPad had been stolen, and he believed Walker had stolen the devices. He said his family members had been receiving messages from someone using those devices to send messages from his accounts, and he provided evidence of the harassing text messages.

The GPD officer made contact with Walker on July 25 after she reportedly reached out to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy regarding a follow-up investigation into a separate incident between her and her ex-boyfriend.

Walker reportedly told the deputy that the victim had contacted her multiple times, violating a no-contact order, and she showed the deputy her phone as evidence; the deputy noted that Walker’s phone contained account information belonging to her ex-boyfriend and there were notes on her phone about hacking accounts, along with multiple messages from Walker to the victim, in spite of a no-contact order. The deputy detained Walker and seized her phone after observing this evidence.

Post Miranda, Walker reportedly said that she still had access to the victim’s email accounts because she had been involved in his business when they were together. She also reportedly admitted to having the victim’s cell phone and said it was in her car.

The GPD officer reported that the victim’s phone was found during a search of Walker’s car. The victim said he never gave Walker permission to take the device, which was on the victim’s cellular account, and he had reported the device as stolen.

Walker has been charged with domestic stalking and grand theft. Her full criminal history is unavailable, but she has been either arrested or charged via sworn complaint four times since 2024; the charges included property damage, child abuse, and three counts of battery, but all of the charges were eventually dropped. Judge David Kreider set bail at $30,000.
